Job summary

You day will consist of 13 patient contacts in a morning session and 9 in the afternoon, with the occasional professional call. This will rotate between on the day appointments and pre bookable appointments, and include E-Consults. During the day you will also review patient results and Docman letters (up to 25 a day).

Main duties of the job

  • The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population.
  • The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract.
  • Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance.
  • Effective management of long-term conditions.
  • Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription.
  • Maintaining accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance.
  • Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload.
  • Adhering to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process.
  • Contributing to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice.
  • Accepting delegated responsibility for a specific area (or areas) of the QOF.
  • Attending and contributing effectively to practice meetings as required.

About us

We are looking for an experienced and proactive GP to join our well-established semi-rural GP practice of approximately 4500 patients in Shropshire.

We are a team of 2 Partners and 2 salaried GPs, working alongside our clinical pharmacist and experienced nursing team. We are also a dispensing practice.
