Due to rapid, continued growth an exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, committed Advanced Nurse Practitioner to join our team at County Surgery. This Advanced Nurse Practitioner role will involve working alongside a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists and Nurses to provide care and treatment to patients with either long term conditions or undiagnosed undifferentiated diagnosis.

Main duties of the job

The successful Advanced Nurse Practitioner will work as an autonomous practitioner, diagnosing, managing, prescribing and discharging patients with illness or injury across all age groups including young children. This may be by face-to-face consultation, telephone or video consultation.

What we are looking for in an Advanced Nurse Practitioner;

  • Registered Adult Nurse registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC), Paramedic registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) or Pharmacist registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
  • Hold an Advanced Nurse Practitioner qualification
  • Can show evidence of using autonomous physical examination and assessment skills in practice
  • Can demonstrate a broad and sound knowledge of complex and common conditions in primary care in both adults and children

  • Masters degree required for qualification post-December 2020
  • Postgraduate diploma or degree for Advanced Practice Qualification up to December 2020
  • Qualified Independent Nurse Prescriber on the NMC register
  • Minor illness qualification

Desirable

  • Qualified triage nurse
  • Teaching qualification
  • ALS and PALS

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of practice within the four pillars
