We are keen to recruit a clinician (Nurse, Nurse Associate OR Healthcare Assistant) to join our highly skilled treatment room team.

The Treatment Room clinician will work as part of the healthcare team providing care and treatment to the patients of The Crescent Surgery and Cleveleys Group Practice.

The team sees patients with a wide range of wounds including leg ulcers, post-surgical wounds, burns and supports patients with a range of treatments including suture removal and compression.

Main duties of the job

Clinical

  • Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs.
  • Wound care / ulcer care/Doppler
  • Removal of Sutures
  • Urinalysis
  • ECGs
  • Venepuncture
  • Blood Pressure Monitoring
  • Routine Injections e.g. Zoladex, Vitamin B12 etc
  • Chaperoning and assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another clinician.
  • Processing/requesting pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs.
  • Participate in programmes for the management of long-term conditions, e.g diabetes, Coronary Heart Disease and Respiratory Disease and other relevant conditions.
  • Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
  • Being available and flexible to ensure the needs of emergency patients are met e.g. ECG, and bloods.

Job Summary:

The Treatment Room clinician will work as part of the healthcare team providing care and treatment to the patients of The Crescent Surgery and Cleveleys Group Practice.

Working as a member of the nursing team to provide integrated care in a primary care clinic setting to all patients registered with Cleveleys Group Practice and The Crescent Surgery.

Working closely with other members of the clinical team to meet agreed targets in line with QOF and National Guidelines.

To take charge of the Treatment Room when required and be responsible on those occasions for lower grades of staff and staff training.

The team sees patients with a wide range of wounds including leg ulcers, post-surgical wounds, burns and supports patients with a range of treatments including suture removal and compression.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical

  • Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior nursing staff and GPs.

Administrative Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs relating to needs and wellbeing.
  • Inputting data on to computer and updating clinical records.
  • Maintaining and cleaning equipment used by the nurses and GPs.
  • Maintaining, ordering of stock and rotating items as required
  • Maintain general tidiness and cleanliness of the treatment room area.
  • Participation in administrative systems in the Practice
  • At all times there will be a need to maintain accurate records
  • A duty to advise senior nurses of potential problems or errors within the range of assigned tasks.
  • Attend and participate in any Practice meetings when required.
  • Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post
