Job summary

Bankhouse Surgery is looking to recruit a full time receptionist/administrator with excellent customer service and organizational skills into our team.

Main duties of the job

The person appointed will be responsible for a wide range of reception and admin duties to support the practice.

To act as the central point of contact for patients, liaising with the practice team and external agencies as required. Ensuring all reception duties are performed effectivley.

About us

The surgery provides services to 10,500 patients. We have 6 GP partners, a nursing team, practice pharmacists and a reception team.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  1. Process personal, telephone and e-requests for appointments
  2. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately
  3. Signpost patients to the correct service via the practice triage system
  4. Initiating contact with and responding to, requests from patients, team members and external agencies
  5. Data entry of new and temporary registrations and relevant patient information as required. Processing GP2GP actions as required along with the process of patient deductions.
  6. Input data into patients healthcare records as necessary

7.Direct requests for information, i.e., SAR, insurance/solicitors letters and DVLA forms to the administrative team as required

8.Action incoming emails and correspondence as necessary

9.Scan patient related documentation and attach scanned documents to patients healthcare records

10.Input data into the patients healthcare records as necessary through summarising/coding

11.Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner

12.Carry out system searches as requested

13.Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all time

14. As required support in the management of repeat prescriptions, ensuring they are processed accurately and efficiently

15. Complete opening and closing procedures in accordance with the duty rota

16.Support all clinical staff with general administrative tasks as requested
