Job summary
Job Summary:
The post holder will be working as part of the wider Elmham Group of Practices Teams which include North Elmham, Swanton Morley and Toftwood Practices.
The post holder will:
Work as a self-directing practitioner within the managerial structure laid down by the practice, to deliver nursing care to the practice population and to work with the GP to meet medical needs as appropriate.
Ensure that all care is delivered to the practice population is relevant, of a high standard and is clinically effective.
Work as a team member within the nursing department and with the GP/NP/PN and HCA Teams to provide an optimum level of care delivery to the patients.
Work within the framework of the NMC Code of Conduct and Professional Practice.
Support audit activity and quality initiatives such as QOF and RCGP Quality Practice Award submission.
Understand that the post will be subject to periodic review and amendment in consultation with the post holder.
To be flexible in cover provision at each site pending Clinical requirements.
Main duties of the job

Clinical Practice:
The post holder will:
Provide clinically appropriate care and treatment to the practice population in conjunction with the GP, or independently, as appropriate and in accordance with practice policies and protocols.
Undertake varied Long Term Condition Reviews.
Have a range of clinical skills developed through experience and training and will be competent to advise patients on a range of health-related matters and to refer them onto an appropriate healthcare professional, as necessary.
To be proficient in expected Practice Nursing skills, i.e., Cervical Screening, Dressings, Child/Adult Immunisations, Travel Health, Contraception Reviews, Injections.
Undertake phlebotomy relevant to the patients ongoing care.
Provide telephone advice and support to patients as appropriate.
Ensure infection control procedures are adhered to and that any equipment required for clinical practice are clean, sterilised if necessary, and stored as appropriate.
Ensure the clinical room is kept clean, tidy, and adequately stocked.
Ensure all equipment is properly cared for and any faults reported as soon as possible.
Continue appropriate Pro-active training, update, and statutory e-learning.
To be up to date with Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis management.
