- The Practice Manager will be supported by a deputy and team of administrative staff available to delegate appropriate.Each area in the practice has a senior doctor as clinical lead to assist in managing that area.partners will give a clear and united vision to steer the Practice Manager in their roles.
Main duties of the job
- Primary responsibilities:
- To lead in the financial aspects of running the practice. To understand and be able to lead in maximising income and overseeing reasonable expenditure. To run the payroll system, understand and manage staff pay and pensions with liaison with PCSE. To be able to oversee the practice accounts with the practice accountants.
- To lead in patient liaison. To deal with patient queries, complaints and compliments supported by the team. To oversee the running of a Patient Participation Group.
- To be chiefly responsible for human resources in the team. Understanding employment legislation and its application, deal with staffing issues, grievances and ongoing development and appraisal.
- To understand and be able to keep IT systems running and working for the practice and patients at best capacity.
- To oversee the programme of quality of care in the practice and ensure systems run with little or no risks to patients.
- To liaise with other organisations around the practice required to ensure safe and quality care is provided.
- Overseeing the process of claims and payments of bills is working to best possible standards.
- Overseeing maintenance of the building, that insurance is appropriate and that the building remains of good quality for purpose.
- Supporting the team to deliver high quality teaching, training and research. Ensuring the environment for learning is appropriate.
- Overseeing the programme of meetings that and actions plans are clearly documented.
About us
We are a modern, dynamic General Practice situated in inner city Nottingham with a practice population of just over 12,000 patients. We are a teaching and training practice and have a high profile and good reputation for being a practice of high quality with good services delivered in a patient centred manner. We are looking for a new Practice Manager due to retirement of our current PM.
There are 6 GP partners, 4 salaried doctors, GP Registrars and an F2 doctor, a highly qualified nursing team, a supportive office team including a PM deputy, and a reception team. There is also an extensive primary health care team attached including a PA, pharmacist, physiotherapists ,social prescribers safeguarding care coordinator and a wellbeing coach
We are looking for a dynamic candidate for this post who ideally , but not essentially, has experience of NHS general practice and can drive our team onwards. Pay-scale depends on previous experience.
There is appropriate pastoral care for all staff and GPs at the practice.
