Were looking for a dedicated and proactive Medical Secretary to join our friendly team at Alrewas Surgery for 24 hours per week. This is a great opportunity to become part of a long-established, respected GP practice serving a semi-rural community between Lichfield and Burton-on-Trent, just off the A38.
Working closely with our clinicians and admin team, youll play a key role in supporting patient care through high-quality secretarial and administrative work. From typing letters and managing referrals to liaising with hospitals and community services, your attention to detail and communication skills will make a real difference in our patients journeys.

Main duties of the job
As a Medical Secretary at Alrewas Surgery, youll be an essential part of our administrative team, helping to ensure patients receive safe and timely care. Your role will involve typing clinical correspondence, handling referrals through NHS systems, and coordinating with hospitals and community services. Youll also support our GPs and nurses by managing incoming communications, updating patient records, and processing information requests.
Attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality are key. Youll need to stay calm under pressure, manage a busy and varied workload, and provide a friendly and professional service to both patients and colleagues.
