GP Partner: 8 sessions per week Beaufort Road Surgery, Southbourne, Bournemouth

We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic GP to join our supportive and thriving team.

We are a single site, GMS Practice, serving 12,000 patients and situated just a short walk from Southbourne's sandy beaches. Led by 6 GP Partners, we are renowned for our high performance and excellent patient satisfaction scores showing our strong commitment to outstanding service.

Main duties of the job

Providing Primary Care services in a compassionate and trusting environment, to improve the health and wellbeing of our local community

We are looking for a GP Partner committed to helping shape the future of the Practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Holding your own patient list
  • Up to 28 patient contacts per day to include ( A mix of F2F, Telephone appointments and electronic consultations)
  • Occasional Home visits (majority of visits carried out by PCN visiting team)
  • Protected time for admin, including workflow documents, prescription, results management and medical reports.
  • Attendance and participation at MDT, weekly Partnership meetings and Full Practice meetings.
  • Provide support where needed to the wider clinical team, including GP Trainees
  • Active involvement in the strategic running of the business

Main Purpose of the Post:

To manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients. To carry out all duties in a professional manner and adhere to all Beaufort Road Surgery protocols, policies, and guidelines.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Post:

The following are the core responsibilities of the GP Partner. There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels.

The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population

The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract

Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance

Effective management of long-term conditions

Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks

Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance

Working collaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines and the audit process

Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice

Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required

Contribute effectively to the development and maintenance of the practice including clinical governance, training, financial management and HR

Ensure compliance with the appraisal process

Prepare and complete the revalidation process

Commit to self-learning and instil an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team

Support the training of GP Registrars

Support the other Partners and Management Team in achieving the strategic aims of the practice

Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times

Encourage collaborative working, liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous improvement at all times

Prepare and attend partnership meetings contributing in a positive manner

Participate in the review of complaints and significant and near-miss events applying a structured approach

Drive the development of enhanced services within the organisation, liaising with external agencies and professional organisations as required

Represent the Practice and Partnership at PCN level and with other strategic partners

Accept responsibility for a specialist interest within the organisation, e.g., minor ops
