Job summary
We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic GP on a fixed term
contract to cover maternity leave for 12 months
Main duties of the job
Min of 5-6 sessions required
Paper light: EMIS Web, Lexacom, Accurx
CQC inspections passed Practice rated *Good* by
CQC in all areas.
Multi-skilled team including Practice Nurse, HCA,
Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technician, First Contact Physio, Social
Prescribers, Physician Associate, Nurse Associate
Enhanced services including Long Term Conditions,
substance misuse, Womens Health including sexual health, coils & implants.
In-house additional services: specialist
nurse-led diabetic clinic, respiratory and heart failure clinics
Psychotherapy
Counselling services, Consultant Psychiatrist clinic
Weekly team meetings: Clinical meeting and an IT
meeting
Support for professional development and
additional areas of expertise also encouraged.

Job description
Job responsibilities
- The post-holder will need to ensure they are readily available to work alongside the Practice timetable, undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries.
- Effectively manage paperwork and correspondence which need to be completed within a timely fashion.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within organisation.
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
- In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health.
- Providing counselling and health education.
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate.
- Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards.
- Collecting data for audit purposes.
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible).
- Prescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate.
- In general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
File abnormal blood tests, as well as those for absent GPs include microbiology as these arent marked abnormal if positive.
File blood test for absent GPs in next 2 working days.
Deal with ALL DOCTORS tasks.
Complete scanned documents/workflow ALL DOCTORS group including necessary referrals/etc.
