Job summary
The Operations Manager plays a key leadership role within Greater Derby Primary Care Network, overseeing the delivery of services, workforce management, and continuous improvement across the network. Working closely with the PCN Business Manager, Clinical Director and Practice teams, the post-holder will ensure services are efficient, sustainable and aligned to both national requirements and local population needs.
The role includes line management of Lead roles, providing oversight and support to ensure consistent performance across teams, while maintaining overall accountability for service delivery and outcomes.

Main duties of the job
This role focuses on leading the day-to-day running of PCN services while ensuring teams are well supported, organised and performing effectively. You will work closely with Lead roles to coordinate workforce delivery across practices, remove operational challenges and support the successful delivery of key priorities and projects.
A key part of the role involves using data and insight to improve services, as well as working with a wide range of stakeholders to strengthen collaboration across the network and wider health system.

Greater Derby PCN consists of 11 GP practices with a collective list size of over 100,000 patients across the Derby area.
The PCN has an established leadership team and currently employs Social Prescribers, Clinical Pharmacists, First Contact Physiotherapists, Health and Wellbeing Coaches and a centralised administration team.
At present, Greater Derby PCN has chosen not to form a separate legal entity. All PCN staff are therefore employed by Alexin Healthcare CIC Limited.

1. Operational Leadership & Service Delivery
- Lead the delivery of PCN priorities, including Network Contract DES and IIF requirements
- Oversee day-to-day operational performance across PCN services and practices
- Ensure consistent processes, pathways and ways of working across the network
- Identify operational risks and implement effective solutions
- Support the planning, implementation and evaluation of PCN services and programmes

2. Workforce & People Management
- Line manage and provide leadership to designated Lead roles across PCN services

- Oversee workforce planning, deployment and utilisation of ARRS staff
- Support practices with workforce challenges and coordination across the network

- Lead the development and implementation of HR processes and systems across the PCN
