Job summary

Roslea Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly and forward-thinking team for 6 clinical sessions per week.

We are a thriving GMS practice serving a growing population of approximately 8,650 patients based in Bamber Bridge, Preston. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a supportive and collaborative environment. Our practice benefits from a strong and well-integrated Primary Care Network (PCN), with a wide range of Allied Health Professionals supporting our clinical team, enabling a sustainable and rewarding workload. Roslea Surgery is a training practice for ST2/3 and medical students.

Main duties of the job

  • 6 clinical sessions per week. Routine and urgent GP clinics/appointments as well as sharing on-call responsibilities on a rota basis with all other GPs
  • Provision of high-quality general medical services to our patient population
  • Working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team

Job responsibilities

The following are the core responsibilities of the Salaried GP. There may be, on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:

  • The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
  • The provision of services commensurate with the GMS contract
  • Generic prescribing adhering to local and national guidance
  • Effective management of long-term conditions
  • Processing of administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescription requests and other associated administrative tasks
  • Provide on call services in the form of duty doctor as part of the GP clinical team during core hours
  • Maintain accurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy and guidance
  • Participate in clinical audit and governance
  • Contribute to the successful implementation of continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the practice
  • Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings as required
