Job summary
The Peel Medical Practice is looking for an experienced and motivated Practice Manager to join our existing management team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborative working, problem-solving, and ongoing development within the practice. You will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the practice, supporting staff across all areas, and contributing to the strategic development of our services.
The ideal candidate will be organised, adaptable, and approachable, with excellent communication and leadership skills. You will bring enthusiasm and fresh ideas to the team, helping us maintain a supportive, efficient, and forward-thinking working environment.
We welcome applications from those with experience in general practice management, as well as from candidates with transferable skills from other healthcare or business sectors. A good understanding of primary care operations, strong people skills, and a commitment to quality improvement will be key to success in this role.

Main duties of the job
The Practice Manager will lead and support the management team to ensure the smooth, safe, and efficient running of the practice. The role includes providing visible leadership, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture, and supporting staff development and engagement. The postholder will oversee day-to-day operations, address operational challenges, and maintain systems and processes to improve efficiency and service delivery. They will contribute to quality improvement and service development, monitor performance and patient feedback, and ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and legislation. The role also involves maintaining effective communication across the practice, representing the practice with external partners, and supporting business planning, audits, and strategic initiatives to ensure sustainable, high-quality care.

We are a large, friendly, and well-established GP surgery located in the town centre. Our team includes 10 GPs, 2 Pharmacists, 5 Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and a large nursing and administrative team, all dedicated to providing high-quality care to our patient population.
