Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our experienced, friendly and busy Practice. The role will involve carrying out a wide variety of administrative tasks to support the practice.

We are looking for a flexible and reliable individual with competent computer and good communication skills with the ability to effectively organise and prioritise the workload. A good attitude, work ethic and a professional and friendly manner is essential.

As an EMIS Web practice, previous experience using this system and working in General Practice would be desirable but not essential as full training will be given.

The role is for 30 hours Monday - Friday

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for undertaking a wide range of administrative duties for the management team.

The successful applicant must work as part of a team,have the ability to prioritise and organise their own workload on a day to day basis.

This very busy GP practice offers services to approximately 15,000 patients through a team of dedicated and hardworking clinical and non-clinical staff. Our team currently includes 5 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GP's, a team of 5 nurses, 2 HCAs and a team of reception / administration staff.

The successful candidate will find themselves working in a welcoming and supportive environment.They will be expected to show initiative and a capacity for independent working.

Job Summary:

To provide administrative support and services to all members of the Practice team.

Job responsibilities:

  • Log Immunisations given to enable claim to be made
  • NHS Health Check Invitations
  • Record details of child Immunisations on individual patient file
  • Update Lists for Child Health Department
  • Retinal Eye Screening - results filing
  • Prepare recall list for patients requiring post-natal appointment and send out invite letters to appropriate patients
  • Registrations requests and workflow, incoming patient notes recording and boxing up for summarising
  • Undertake any other clerical/ administrative tasks and duties as directed by the Assistant Practice Manager/ Practice Manager

  • In the course of seeking treatment, patients entrust us with, or allow us to gather, sensitive information in relation to their health and other matters. They do so in confidence and have the right to expect that staff will respect their privacy and act appropriately
