Woodfield
Medical Centre is a large practice of 22,000 patients in the Grimsby area.
The
Practice Nurse we are looking for will become a central part of the large
clinical team providing a range of health care for patients from long term
condition health checks, wound care and vaccinations.
As
a training practice we areresponsive to the development needs of our
employees and the changing NHS.
Main duties of the job
Practice
Nurses in the practice are an essential part of the clinical team supporting
the GP and nursing team while providing high quality patient care within their
own responsibilities.
As
a Practice Nurse within the practice you will develop the skills in the
following areas:
Long term condition management
Wound Care
Testing (ECGs/Spirometry/Blood samples etc)
Vaccinations and injections
Cervical Screening
These
are just a few of the varied roles the Practice Nurse will undertake within the
practice setting in an ever changing dynamic and developing NHS. Please refer

Job responsibilities
The post holder is responsible for the delivery of general practice
nursing to the whole practice population. The focus of the role is both the
delivery of evidence-based practice for patients presenting with a long term
condition, and the provision of preventative health care to the practice
population. As an autonomous practitioner the nurse is responsible for the care
delivered, demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical
decision-making in the management of patients. They will work collaboratively
within the general practice team to meet the needs of patients, support the
delivery of policy and procedures.
