locations across Bucks/Oxon delivering a wide range of services. It has an
overall CQC rating of good and rating as outstanding for leadership. The
Managing Director is a newly created post to replace our Managing Partner who
is retiring after 20 years in the Practice.
The Practice employs over 60
health care professionals and administrative staff. The successful candidate
will have executiveand operational responsibilityfor all aspects of
the business; finance, workforce and strategic elements of servicesand
service deliveryprovided by Unity Health. This will require personal
commitment and motivation of staff to lead the operation and maximise the
potential of all. You will have the support of 9 Partners; a management team;
clinical and administrative staff to deliver a high standard of patient care.
The role is crucial to the success of the practice and the team.
Main duties of the job
Provide leadership and management skills to enable the
practice to meet its agreed aims and objectives within a profitable, efficient,
safe and effective working environment. Play a pivotal
role in the delivery of high quality care
to the patients of the practice, ensuring the practice is smoothly run on a day-to-day
basis incorporating good governance and a patient focused service. Provide oversight of the financial management,
resourcing and regulatory compliance of the work of the practice.
Support PCN colleagues and overseeing
service delivery ensuring contract delivery and performance. To represent the
practice to patients and at events external to the practice.

Job responsibilities
Keep abreast of current affairs and identify potential threats and opportunities
Contribute to practice strategy; formulate objectives and research and develop ideas for future practice development
Monitor and evaluate performance of the practice team against objectives; identify and manage change
Develop and maintain effective communication both within the practice and with relevant outside agencies
Assess and evaluate practice requirements and manage expansion plans
- Ensure that sound financial controls are consistently in place and followed.
- Manage practice budgets and seek to maximise income
- Prepare bids for new resources
- Oversee practice accounts; ensuring year-end figures are submitted promptly and liaise with PM, practice accountant and partners
- Lead the budgeting and monitoring process each year, contributing to the longer term strategic planning
- Work with the PM and finance partners to monitor income and expenditure.
- Prepare and present financial plans including forecasting, monitoring information and reporting to the partners as required
- Understand and report on the financial implications of contract and legislation changes
- Monitor PAYE and contributions to the practice pension scheme(s) for all practice staff and ensure appropriate records
- Liaise with PM to monitor systems for handling and recording of cash and cheques and petty cash
