Job summary
Due to an internal promotion, we are seeking a friendly, hardworking,
and enthusiastic Receptionist to join our dedicated Reception team. Previous
experience in a receptionist role or within a medical setting is desirable;
however, full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Ideally we are looking for 16 hours per week, days and time to be negotiated. Reception is open between 8am-7pm.

The
receptionists are the first point of contact for patients, contractors, and
visitors. You will be responsible for the general reception duties within the
Practice and work with our established processes, policies, and procedures to
provide a comprehensive high-quality service and deal efficiently and
courteously with patient enquiries. You will have excellent computer and communication
skills, a compassionate and friendly nature who can operate in a fast-paced
environment while maintaining attention to detail and working well in a team.
Main duties of the job
Main duties/key
tasks:
Filing and retrieving
paperwork/correspondence, including filing to patient records
Computer data entry,
processing, scanning, and recording information in accordance with practice
procedures
Handing completed repeat
prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
Processing telephone
requests for appointments, telephone consultations and ensuring callers are
directed to the appropriate healthcare professional
Initiating contact with and
responding to requests from patients, other team member and associated
healthcare agencies and providers

Reception duties
- Open / closing of surgery
- Register new patients - temporary patients
- Greet and direct patient and visitors
- Handing out prescriptions - paperwork
- Ensure queries are explained and handed over to next shift staff, as necessary
- Respond to needs of our clinical team during surgery
- Collect fees from patients for providing non-NHS services
- Filling of medical records, photocopying, scanning
- Deal with general enquires
