We are looking for an experienced, friendly, hardworking and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our fantastic Nursing team on a permanent basis . Ideally we are looking for 24 hours per week, Tuesdays are essential.
Main duties of the job
Healthcare Assistant Duties and responsibilities:
New patient health checks
NHS Health Checks
BP monitoring
ECG recording
Phlebotomy
Spirometry
Chaperoning duties
Provide lifestyle advice to patients making any necessary referrals within the Practice
Weight monitoring
Perform wound dressings under supervision by Practice Nurses
Ensure specimens are labelled and bagged ready for collection with the necessary paperwork completed
Ensure clinical waste collection runs smoothly, reporting any problems to the Senior Practice Nurse
Ensure sharps bins are ready for collection
Emptying clinical bins
Clean and record as per schedules
Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring and recording
Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation
Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms
Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during and after patient care interventions, including assisting GPs during the performance of minor operations
Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients health and well-being
Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted
To assist in seasonal and special projects as requested e.g. flu campaign
