Job summary
We are a busy, forward-thinking practice looking for a
Salaried GP to join our team for 4 to 8 sessions per week in the coastal town
of Gorleston in Norfolk; we are close to beautiful beaches, and the Norfolk
Broads also within easy reach of the city of Norwich.
We pride ourselves in offering a friendly and professional service in catering
for approx. 25,000 patients operating over 3 sites. Two of the sites are in
Gorleston and one in Hopton.
We are part of the Gorleston Primary Care Network and play
an active part in our local primary care estates development.

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will
make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including face to face consultations, telephone/video consultations and queries, visiting
patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing
with queries, paperwork and correspondence.
In
general, you will be expected to undertake all the normal
duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary
care.
All agreements will be in line with the BMA Model Salaried GP Contract. You will be given 15-minute consultations and be invited to Practice meetings.

You will work alongside a dynamic team of 4 salaried GPs, ANPs, Paramedics, Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Practice Nurses, HCAs, Phlebotomist and administrative support staff

- To undertake a variety of duties, including
surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting
patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing
with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
- Making
professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems,
whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within
the organisation
- Assessing
the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed
problems
- Screening
patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Developing
care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with
current practice disease management protocols

counselling and health education
- Admitting
or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other
care providers as appropriate
- Recording
clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
- Collecting
data for audit purposes

and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding
hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
