Job summary

We are pleased to advertise a great opportunity for a salaried GP at New Street Surgery in Hill Top, West Bromwich. We have 3700 patients at our site in West Bromwich. And we are looking to appoint a friendly and enthusiastic salaried GP to join our growing multidisciplinary Team. The job will include 6 sessions per week over 3 days. We welcome applications from experienced GP's and through the Black Country GP fellowship scheme.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a GP who shares our values of offering high quality patient centred care.

There will be a mixture of telephone, video and face to face and home visit appointments.

Triage and treat patients wishing to see a health care professional, making any necessary referrals to other members of the primary health care team and appropriate referrals into secondary care and other organisations.

Adhering to the practice prescribing formulary.

To participate in the audit process, evaluation and implementing plans and practice change in order to meet patient need.

There is a pro-rata share of paperwork, correspondence and test results associated with patient care.

Contribute positively to the effectiveness and efficiency of the team and work colleagues.

About us

We have an established team of 4 GP Partners, 2 GPs, 1 HCA, 1 Practice Nurse. 1 Pharmacist and working in collaboration with the PCN as part of the ARRS roles, we have 1 Paramedic, 2 Pharmacy Technicians, 1 Primary Care Mental Health Nurse and 1 Social Prescriber. We have an excellent working environment with supportive GP's and Nurse. We use System One and Accurx. We have onsite parking. Our Home visit request is low. We work well within our PCN (Together 4 Health) and you will be expected to contribute to extended hours on a rota basis.

Job responsibilities

Diagnosing and treating patients.

Triage & Treat patients wishing to see a health care professional, making any necessary referrals to other members of the primary health care team.

Appropriate referrals to secondary care and other organisations

Responding to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis , treatment and referral where appropriate.

Providing appropriate preventative health care advice.

Adhering to the practice prescribing formulary

Ensure clinical practice is safe and effective and remains within boundaries of competence and to acknowledge limitations.

Advise patients on general health carer and minor ailments, with referral to other members of the primary and secondary health care team as necessary.

Work from the surgery and within communities as an autonomous practitioner caring for patients and their families.

Ensure that personal and professional standards are maintained.

To undertake assessment for patients within the community and those attending surgery, using diagnostic skills and initiation of investigations where appropriate.

Prescribes/issue medication as appropriate following policy, patient group directives and local pathways,

To formally and informally impart knowledge and skills to colleagues promoting peer review and best practice within the work environment.

To communicate at all levels within the team ensuring effective service is delivered.

To maintain accurate, contemporaneous healthcare records appropriate to the consultation.

Ensure evidenced-based care is delivered at the highest standards ensuring delivery of high quality patient care.

Work with local policies and procedures.

Enhance own performance through continuous professional development, imparting own knowledge and behaviours to meet the needs of the service.

To achieve and demonstrate agreed standards of personal and professional development in order to meet the needs of the service.
