Job summary
The GP partner is responsible for
operational and strategic decision-making and management, and providing medical
care and services to the practice population, managing a clinical caseload and
dealing with a diverse range of health needs. This will include, but is not
limited to, leadership, development of services, patient consultations,
administration, complying with the practices contract type PMS, education and
training delivery, and private contracts.
Manage workload, staff
availability and cover, in collaboration with fellow partners
Make, implement and
adhere to decisions, in collaboration with fellow partners, including following
agreed processes to raise concerns. Develop and nurture professional and collaborative
working relationships with all staff and external stakeholders
Main duties of the job
The following are the core responsibilities of the GP partner. There
may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be
dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels:
The delivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled
population, especially to the successful Applicants personal list of patients
commensurate with the PMS contract
Adhering to local and national guidance for generic prescribing
Processing of referrals, repeat prescription requests etc
On a rotational basis and pro rata to sessional commitment, provide
duty doctor roles and extended hours etc
Accept responsibility for clinical and non-clinical lead roles within
the practice,including
property management and clinical governance
Show leadership qualities, ensuring an even distribution of the
practice workload
Promote effective working relationships and communication within the
practice.
Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings remain fully focused on the strategic aims of the practice
Prepare and attend partnership meetings contributing in a positive
manner
Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies at all times
Liaising with all staff regularly, promoting a culture of continuous
improvement at all times
Participate in local initiatives to enhance service delivery and
patient care
Drive development of enhanced services within the practice,
liaise with external agencies and professional organisations
About us
St James Practice is a general practice in
Beckenham, Bromley providing NHS primary care services to over 7,000 patients.
We have a well-established team of 3 GP Partners, 1 salaried GP, 1 GP Retainer,
2 Practice Nurses, and 1 HCA.
This role is for 4/5 sessions.
We are a training practice with medical students
and GP registrars, we are involved in new projects to change the delivery of
Primary Care. We work in conjunction with our PCN onsite Clinical pharmacists, Physiotherapist, Advanced Mental Health Nurse, and Health and Wellbeing Coach to expand the care we provide to our patients.
