Job summary
Phlebotomist Fixed-Term Contract (1 Day/Week) We are looking for a qualified and experienced phlebotomist to join our team on a fixed-term basis for 6 months. This is a part-time role, working one day per week (7.5 hours), and includes access to the NHS Pension Scheme.
The successful candidate must be confident and competent in venepuncture for adults. Experience and a recognised qualification enabling you to take blood from children aged 2 years and over would be highly desirable.
You will be part of a friendly and supportive clinical team, providing a vital service to our patients. Professionalism, compassion, and excellent communication skills are essential.

Main duties of the job
Main Duties:
- Perform venepuncture on adults and, if appropriately qualified, children aged 2 and over
- Ensure safe, accurate, and timely collection of blood samples in line with clinical protocols
- Accurately label and prepare samples for transport to the laboratory
- Provide a calm and reassuring experience for all patients, particularly young children
- Maintain high standards of infection control and hygiene
- Record patient details and sample information accurately in clinical systems
- Communicate effectively with patients, parents/guardians, and healthcare professionals
- Manage equipment and supplies needed for phlebotomy procedures
