Job summary
We are looking for a friendly, caring and patient focused GP to join our well established team. We are offering between 4 to 8 sessions weekly and these can be as a salaried GP or GP Partner.
We operate a triage system through Klinik and this is supported by our large MDT team, which includes Physio, Paramedic, Nurse Practitioners, Physicians Associates and more. We have a skilled nursing team that deliver the majority of our chronic disease management clinics, and all our staff are supported by an well trained admin team.
Main duties of the job
- Varied work patterns and rotas will include consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
- Collecting data for audit purposes
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
- Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
- In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
About us
Bosvena Health was formed in July 2022, following the merger of 2 practices based in Bodmin. We are a dynamic and forward thinking GP Practice with a wide MDT of staff.
We are a training practice, and also support training for nurse students, paramedic placements, med students and others. We have a established a PCN Learning Organisation, and work closely with our PCN Practice colleagues to support educational development within the PCN.
We have a semi-rural practice population, with a wide patient demographic. We are extremely active in looking at patient Health Inequalities and community and work closely with our Integrated Care Area team to facilitate and support integration, embracing the aspirations of the Fuller report.
We have an extremely well functioning and supportive PCN, and work closely with our PCN Practices on various projects, and health related innovations and plans for change and improvement as part of our QI work.

The post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.
Clinical responsibilities:
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
