Job summary
Regular alternating shift pattern over 5 days per week, with core hours worked between 8:30am and 6:30pm (Monday to Friday).
Cover for extended opening hours Tuesday, evening (8:00pm finish) and Saturday morning working (8:30am to 5pm) is also n a roational basis
Some flexibility may be required on occasion to ensure that service delivery is maintained in the event of absence of other Reception team members.
Main duties of the job
Prepare premises and facilities in reception, waiting room and consultation rooms to provide a welcoming environment for patients and efficient work areas for members of the Practice team.
Provide telephone and face to face reception service to patients and visitors to the Practice, assisting and directing them in accessing the most appropriate appointment, service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.
Operate and maintain Practice appointment, telephone and registration systems using the Practice clinical system.
Undertake routine administration associated with maintaining paper records, facilitating pathology testing, in-coming and out-going post and maintenance of stock required in reception area.
Provide general assistance to the Practice Team and project a positive and welcoming image of the Practice to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone at all times.
