Job summary

St Mary Street Surgery is a medium sized practice located in Thornbury.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our friendly administration team who look after the practice's 'behind the scenes' endeavours. We have 30 hours available to be worked everyday preferably but we would also consider other working patterns including 4 days or a job share.

The successful candidate will be organised, dynamic and able to work under their own initiative as well as be a team player.

Main duties of the job

Our administrative team is pivotal to our service. The work undertaken by the administrative team underpins all functions of the practice. You will need to have good organisational and communication skills to ensure the smooth running of the practices administrative duties which are vast.

About us

We are a friendly, social bunch and fair well in the annual GP Patient Survey.

We are a GP training practice with 3 of our 4 Partners registered as trainers; we commonly have at least one learner with us at any given time. In addition, we are supported by 3 part time salaried GPs, 2 Nurse Practitioners, a highly successful nursing team and a dedicated and supportive administrative and reception team.

Job responsibilities

Providing administrative support to the management team

Baby immunisation recall

Smear call and recall

High risk drug monitoring

Registering new patients including babies

Arrange online access for patients

Patient deductions

Completion of claim forms Womens health and FP34s

Online access administration

Basic coding and recording of results

Processing workflow i.e. incoming patient documentation (hard copy and electronic)

Processing e-Consultations

Assisting with the management of petty cash

Private income lead

Carers champion including maintaining the carers register

Appointment book publication

IT support primary contact

Processing referrals

Medical Record redaction
