An exciting opportunity has arisen for an
enthusiastic nurse to join our supportive team. Part-time - Maximum 30 Hrs a week.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a Lead Practice Nurse who will be responsible for
ensuring the delivery of safe and effective nursing care to the whole practice
population and development of the nursing services provided at the practice.
They will provide leadership and direction to the nursing team and
develop the clinical practice of the practice nurse team in the provision of
assessment, treatment, screening, health education services, and advise to
patients. They will lead and manage the nursing resources, working closely with
the GP Partners and Management team to deliver the overall practice priorities
whilst providing a high standard of nursing care to patients. The candidate will have skills in developing
and maintaining practice policies and protocols for all nursing activity. To be
the infection control lead in the practice and ensure all staff are aware of
current procedures.
They will also focus on clinical delivery such as chronic disease
management, health promotion, a range of treatment room skills including wound
management, vaccinations and immunisations and preventative nursing
interventions to all patients.

- Wound care management (including dopplers and compression bandaging, in line with current evidence-based guidelines and suture removal)
- Routine immunisations and vaccinations given under a Patient Group Direction (with additional paediatric vaccination certification an advantage)

- Contraceptive pill checks / sexual health
- Undertake long term condition reviews with appropriate training (eg Asthma/COPD, Diabetes, CKD, Hypertension)
