Job summary
Aspen Medical Practice was formed in 2018 with the merger of 4
practices, making it the largest surgery in Gloucestershire with over 30,000
patients.
Since
also becoming the first single surgery Primary Care Network in Gloucestershire,
Aspen has been developing its teams to maximise the efficiencies and reach that
a large scale organisation can mobilise for its patients.
Operating from
a modern main super surgery in central Gloucester and two branch surgeries, we
work together as one team to provide the best possible service we can for our
patients and their families.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic nurse with a special interest in Diabetes to join our forward thinking treatment room diabetic team.
Any additional training will be provided.

Job responsibilities
Practice independently in accordance with UKCC code
of conduct and with reference to the Working in Partnership (WiPP) General
Nursing Toolkit Knowledge and Skills Framework and the Practice Guidelines,
appropriately referring to GPs.
- Assist in and
perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed by senior
nursing staff and GPs
- Provide Well Women services such as cervical cytology, pill checks,
Depo-Provera injections and assist GPs in the provision of contraceptive
services
- Monitoring of
hormone replacement therapy
- Wound care / ulcer
care/Doppler
- Dressings
- Removal of Sutures
- Travel Clinic
- ECGs
- Venepuncture
- Hypertension
Management
- Ear syringing
- Routine
immunizations/Childhood immunisations
- Chaperoning and
assisting patients where appropriate who are being examined by another
clinician
- Assisting GPs with
minor surgery and coil fittings
- Requesting
pathology tests, for example urine culture, swabs
- Special interest in Diabetes
- Following agreed
clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
