Job summary
Working under the
direct supervision of The Nurse Clinical Lead and in accordance with specific
practice guidelines and protocols within the scope of their practice, the
health care assistant will assist the clinical team in the provision and
delivery of prescribed programs of patient care including preventative health,
health promotion and patient education.
Main duties of the job
NHS Health Checks
Blood Pressure readings,
Pulse, respiration, Urinalysis
Phlebotomy
ECG recording
Assisting the Practice
Nurse and Practice Pharmacists with Hypertension review
Undertake wound care,
dressings, suture and clip removal and other clinical tasks as required
under the supervision of the Practice Nurse
Assists GP in minor
surgery
Chaperoning duties.
Cleaning and re stocking
Clinical Rooms.
Vaccines/Cold chain
storage Recording Fridge Temperatures
Help raise awareness of
Health and wellbeing
Ensure Clinical Waste is
removed from Clinical area and that sharps bins are replaced in accordance with the practice Infection
Control policy
Able to participate in flu/covid vaccination clinics

About us
Mickleover Medical Centre, has a registered population of just
under 13,000. We have 5 GP Partners 3 Salaried GP's. 1 Clinical Nurse Lead(
NP). 1 ANP, 2 Practice Nurses . Within
the multidisciplinary team we have an in house care co-ordinator, and Pharmacists,
Social Prescribers and Physio's. Supported by an excellent administration team

Contribute to the Practice achieving its quality targets to sustain the
high standards of patient care and service delivery

medical records and ensure that the right patients are on the right clinic.
Input a wide range of clinical data onto SystmOne,
utilising accurate read-codes for all entries and observing Practice protocols.
This will include entering of vaccination records.
Support the wider Practice team on
Practice work in times of high volume

- Qualified to NVQ level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care
