You will be working along one part-time salary GP and Four Partners, we are a training practice and currently have two trainees working with us.
We are looking for a GP that can work 4-6 sessions a week
Main duties of the job
- You would be expected to cover an average of 1 Duty Day per week.
- Morning sessions will be 08:00 -13:00
- Afternoon sessions will be 14:30 - 17:30 on non-duty days, with the last patient being at 17:00 to allow for paperwork.
- Annual leave entitlement is 6 weeks per year pro rata
- Study Leave entitlement is 1 week per year pro rata
- Salaried GP are expected to deal with a 'fair-share' of paperwork, results and prescriptions.
Key Responsibilities
- In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation.
- Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
- screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
- In consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols, developing care plans for health
- Providing counselling and health education
- Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate

- The salaried doctor will deal with a 'fair-share' of paperwork, results and prescriptions and will have their work covered when on annual leave. Similarly, it is expected that the salaried GP will cover colleagues for periods of leave according to practice systems.
- In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
- Management of the medical needs of patients in a care home environment as required.
Liaison with:
- All Clinicians within the Practice; Management Team; all other reception and admin support staff; patients; visitors; all outside agencies who work with the Practice.

- Segregation and disposal of waste materials

Collation of information
Support the practice team in achievement of keeping medical records updated by ensuring the following:
- Collation of patient information using Emis Web medical information system
- Assist with the management of disease registers (where appropriate)
- Maintaining quality and accuracy of all data input

- Carry out routine checks to ensure your workstation is clean and tidy at the start and end of each shift
- Ensure all equipment in your workstation is operational and up to date and report any issues to your line manager.
