Job summary

Job title: Patient Services Officer

As the first point of contact for our patients, Patient Services Officers (PSOs) at Minet Green Health Practice are at the very heart of our team. It is a challenging and rewarding role with clear opportunities for career progression for staff who show interest and aptitude.

Main duties of the job

PSOs at Minet Green are primarily responsible for greeting patients and answering queries at reception, answering telephone calls, and performing a range of administrative duties.

The role involves working closely with all members of the practice team, including clinicians, managers, and the rest of the PSO team to provide a high standard of patient care.

Administrative tasks may include:

- Document management (both digital and physical)

- Dealing with emails from patients and third parties

- Responding to queries sent via our website

- Contacting patients for routine checkups and appointments

There are many other responsibilities which PSOs can assume once their initial training and has been completed, including repeat prescription requests, medical records requests, private medical reports and recalls for specific patient groups. These will be discussed with management and will be tailored to your own interests and strengths.

We a large and modern GP surgery in the heart of Lambeth, between Camberwell and Brixton. The practice is based in the spacious and purpose-built Akerman Health Centre. We are proud to support a diverse and multicultural population of around 12,000 patients, and are part of the Fiveways Primary Care Network.

You will be joining our friendly and dedicated team of PSOs,who are supported by a team of Care Coordinators, a Data and Operations Lead, the Practice Operations Manager, and our co-Practice Business Managers.

The practice's clinical team is made up of 4 GP Partners, 6 salaried GP's, 1 Pharmacist Partner, 2 Practice Nurses, 2 Healthcare Assistants and 3 Pharmacists, as well as Social Prescribing Link Workers, Physiotherapists, Dieticians, Health & Wellbeing Coaches, Mental Health Practitioners, and Alcohol & Drugs Counsellors.
