Job summary
We are looking for a skilled and motivated GP Assistant to join Gordon Street Surgery and work closely with our Lead GP within a GP-Consultant led model of care.
This is a key role for someone with strong GP practice administrative expertise who wants to be at the heart of clinical decision-making and service delivery. You will play an integral part in supporting high-quality patient care by combining advanced primary care administration with delegated clinical support, helping to free up GP time and improve patient access.

Main duties of the job
The GP Assistant will primarily support the Lead GP and wider clinical team by ensuring smooth, efficient day-to-day clinical, administration and patient care processes.
Key aspects of the role include managing and coding clinical correspondence, supporting patient pathways, maintaining accurate clinical records, and working closely with clinicians to streamline workflows. The role also includes delegated clinical support tasks, depending on experience, with full training provided for candidates who are keen to develop clinical skills.
This is a varied and dynamic role requiring excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of how primary care operates.
