Job summary

Can you be patient with patients? We are looking for an afternoon receptionist to join our experienced team. Fixed afternoons Monday -Friday 1:30pm-6:30pm.

Main duties of the job

Your role is to support patients who wish to make appointments, order repeat prescriptions, give out test results, and generally help patients in any way you can.

About us

Parkview Surgery is a 4 doctor practice in Hillingdon. It has been established for more than 50 years here. We have an experienced administration team led by an experienced Reception Manager and are looking for an additional staff member to help with the smooth running of the practice.

Job description

Job responsibilities

We are looking for a part-time GP Receptionist to join our friendly practice team. 25hrs per week, Monday-Friday 1:30pm - 6:30pm (please only apply if you are available for these specific days).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing appointment requests (in person, by phone, and online)

  • Handling prescription requests

  • Giving out test results as directed by clinicians

  • Managing home visit requests

  • Answering patient queries and providing general assistance

  • Filing and maintaining medical records accurately

  • Performing a range of other administrative and reception duties as required

Essential Skills and Qualities:

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team

  • Strong organisational and IT skills

  • Confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Previous experience in a GP surgery or healthcare setting is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
