Job summary

Experienced Cleaner Wanted for a Busy Doctors Surgery - 6 hours (Wednesday and Thursday 5-8)

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Cleaner to join our team and help maintain a high standard of hygiene in our busy medical practice. As a key part of our healthcare environment, you will play a vital role in ensuring our surgery remains clean, safe, and welcoming for patients and staff.

The ideal candidate will have previous cleaning experience, with a strong understanding of infection control and hygiene protocols. If you take pride in your work and have great attention to detail, we'd love to hear from you!

Main duties of the job

The Practice Cleaner is responsible for working as a team member to support the internal cleaning of the Practice, using materials and equipment provided in the manner recommended by the manufacturers and suppliers. To adhere to Health & Safety Regulations, ensuring that all cleaning is conducted in a safe manner.

Each team member will normally have designated areas for which they are responsible, with some large areas being covered by two.

To work flexibly as a team to ensure the rota is covered for absences.

We are a training and forward-thinking practice with 4 GP Partners, 5 salaried GP's and a nursing team of 14.

Job responsibilities

Key Tasks

1.Cleaning and waste disposal

Adhering to cleaning schedules and standards set out by the Practice, to ensure regular and timely cleaning is undertaken. Tasks which include

Vacuuming of carpets and mats

Cleaning of hard floor surfaces

Cleaning of all rooms including, toilets, kitchens, offices, clinical rooms

Collecting and bagging of waste and putting ready for disposal

Litter picking outside.

Recording of cleaning each specific are of work as necessitated by the business.

2.Stock replenishment & equipment

Responsible for ensuring adequate stock is available.

Replenishing of supplies of soap, paper towels, toilet rolls and waste disposal bags.

Monitor and report stock levels of cleaning materials and place request with team leave before stocks are exhausted.

Ensure all cleaning equipment used is cleaned in preparation for the next shift.

Reporting faulty cleaning equipment and any building conditions that may require attention to the Practice Manager

3. Building Maintenance / Health & Safety Compliance

Follow and adhere to Health & Safety Procedures

Ensure up to date with mandatory training modules.

Identification and reporting of maintenance requirements.

Support the regular H&S checks as required including:

- General safety check

- Cleaning audit

Support any corrective action required in relation to Health & Safety compliance, including attending staff training.

4.Information Technology

Using IT to ensure email, Teamnet and training provider access.

Reporting IT issues in a timely manner to ensure access is available at all times.

5.Miscellaneous

a) Providing appropriate cover for other team members

b) Following all policies and procedures (include financial procedures) as set down by the Partnership.

c) Contributing to and actively promoting the Partnership's mission, vision, and values.

Other duties, which may be required, and which are consistent with the responsibilities of the post as it now stands, and as it develops over time.
