Job summary
To be successful in this role you will be a
qualified dispenser with experience of managing a team. You will have an
established track record in day to day operational management of a dispensary
or pharmacy and be able to demonstrate sound understanding of how to achieve
efficient processes and maximise income.
We are looking for a positive and approachable
person with a suitably recognised qualification in Pharmacy Services as per the
person specification. An adaptable and flexible mentality will be key, as well
as a desire to embed newly acquired knowledge and skills. We use the latest
technology to provide services for our patients and aspire to highest clinical
standards.
Main duties of the job
Canterbury Medical Practice is looking for a Dispensary
Manager who will be responsible for providing leadership and direction to our
Dispensary Team, ensuring that we deliver safe, efficient and patient-focused
dispensing service.
As Dispensary Manager our patients will be at the
heart of everything you do, listening and providing advice, helping patients to
manage their prescriptions and also helping to achieve the smooth and efficient
running of the dispensary and be a key member of our management team.
A pleasant disposition and approachable manner are
key attributes, together with good communicative and interpersonal skills. The
post requires the ability to exercise tact and discretion, and to use
initiative. The ability to work under pressure and as part of a team is equally
important.

The dispensary is part of our newly built
Littlebourne Surgery where you will be based. As a valued member of our
dispensary team, you will help ensure that our patients get the best possible
service every time they visit our practice. Through your passion to deliver a
great healthcare service and your ability to provide professional advice,

The successful applicant will provide flexibility in their availability to work, and will be required to take equal responsibility for ensuring adequate cover during holidays and periods of sickness.

- Knowledge of pharmacy service procedures including GDP, enhanced services, falsified medicines directive etc.
- Managerial qualification to Diploma level or equivalent experience.
- Member of the Association of Pharmacy Technicians (APTUK).
- NVQ Level 4 in Management or equivalent, or equivalent experience in Pharmacy Management role.
