Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a welcoming and professional service to patients both in person and over the phone
  • Manage and maintain accurate patient records using EMIS
  • Schedule appointments, process repeat prescriptions, and handle referrals
  • Deal with incoming and outgoing correspondence, including medical reports
  • Liaise with external providers such as hospitals, pharmacies, and community services
  • Support the clinical team with administrative tasks as required
  • Ensure compliance with confidentiality and GDPR guidelines at all times

To provide efficient, professional, and friendly administrative support within the GP practice, ensuring patients receive excellent service and that the day-to-day operations of the practice run smoothly. This role is key in supporting both clinical and non-clinical staff and maintaining high standards of patient care.

  • Knowledge of medical terminology
