Job summary
Our busy practice has a fantastic opportunity for a Practice Nurse to join our friendly team. We are a training practice with approximately 5200 patients.
The ideal candidate should have previous practice nurse experience of working in a primary care environment, with experience if Chronic disease management, cytology, travel health, vaccinations, childhood immunisations, along with general practice nurse duties.
Main duties of the job
Help the practice develop and deliver specialist
primary nurse led services, including chronic disease management (including for
all areas of QOF)
Provide comprehensive travel health advice for
patients prior to travel.
Administer child and adult immunisations and
vaccinations in accordance with national and local programmes. Competent in anaphylaxis and resuscitation
techniques. Ensuring safe storage,
rotation and disposals of vaccines and drugs and that adequate stock levels are
maintained.
Undertake procedures including venepuncture,
glucose tolerance tests, BP management, urinalysis, peak flow, new patient
health checks, pregnancy testing, stitch / clip removal, ear syringing,
cytology, wound management.
Promote health and wellbeing, giving general
education advice on diet, contraception, smoking, chronic disease management,
exercise etc
Initiate and carry out programmes of health
screening as agreed with the practice clinical team.
Make appropriate referrals to other members of
the primary, community and secondary care teams.
Provide support and chaperoning to the doctors
for minor surgery and other procedures.
Enables, supports and encourage individuals,
families and groups to address issues which affect their health and social
wellbeing.
Contribute to the practice of achieving its PMS
contract obligations including quality.
Maintain accurate records according to NMC
rules.

Greenside Surgery is based in Rotherham, we have a patient list size of approximately 5200. We are part of Central North Primary Care Network.
We are a GP training practice, our friendly supportive team are as follows:
2 GP partners, 2 Salaried GP's, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 Healthcare Assistant, 1 Phlebotomist. We have a compliment of Receptionists & Administrators who support the practice.
