Job summary
We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic, friendly and
approachable Medical Secretary to join our team at Leicester Terrace Health
Care Centre on a fixed term contract.
As a Medical
Secretary you will be responsible for dealing with patients
face to face and over the telephone, you will also speak to other stakeholders
such as Hospital Doctors, Secretaries and Mental Health Teams
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be IT
literate and have the ability to work under pressure. Previous experience as a
Medical Secretary would be advantageous.
Hours of work: 09:00 - 17:00 three days a week, one of which will include a Friday. You will also be required to cover holidays and sickness within the medical secretary team.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking an organised and professional GP Medical Secretary to provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to our GPs and clinical team. The role includes managing patient referrals through NHS e-Referrals Service (e-RS) and other pathways, maintaining accurate patient records, liaising with hospitals and external healthcare providers, and supporting the wider administrative team to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
You will work as
part of a team in handling a variety of queries received via post, email or telephone
from patients and clinicians.
Our clinical System is SystmOne and whilst it is preferred to have
experience of this, training can be provided as long as you are competent in typing
and have adequate computer knowledge.
