Main duties of the job

The Housekeeping team are highly valued members of our Practice, pivotal to a smooth daily run of our services offered. The main duties are to ensure our Surgery is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and to be maintained in an orderly manner: providing all aspects of housekeeping duties to the General Practitioners, all other health care professionals, the Managing Partner and all back office members of staff.

We have modern premises including a level 3 operating theatre. We have eleven doctors, two MSK Practitioners, one Clinical Pharmacist, ten Practice Nurses and 4 Health Care Assistance.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Cleaning of all Consulting Rooms, Administrative Offices and all areas of the surgery that have been in use

Ensure the ordering, receiving and safe storage of all supplies and cleaning materials.

Cleaning of the Theatre in line with IPC guidance

Completion of mandatory training including COSHH and IPC training

Cleaning up bodily fluids, such as vomit and blood, in line with spillage control procedures

Cleaning of the kitchens, toilets and shower as required

Changing of clinical curtains as required

Empty all bins into correct coloured bags for appropriate disposal

Covering sickness/absence and holidays when required

  • Previous housekeeping experience
  • Working as part of a team
  • Ability to be able to work on their own

  • Knowledge of Infection and Prevention Control (IPC) and COSHH

Desirable

  • Experience of working within a healthcare/primary care setting
  • Strong work ethos, with a friendly approachable personality
  • Physical strength due to being on your feet for a long time
