Job summary

Newtons Practice is looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated GP to join our practice team.

o 4 sessions per week preferably Thursday and Friday

o Starting salary negotiable depending on experience

o Indemnity fees reimbursed

o £250 annual training budget

o £1000 Golden Hello upon successful completion of the probationary period

o Generous holiday allowance 7 weeks annual leave and 1 week study leave (pro rata)

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will be required to provide high quality primary care medical services. These medical services will include face to face, online and telephone consultations with patients at Newtons Practice, Nursing Homes and at patients homes.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Providing health assessments and advice, diagnosis and treatment, prescribing medication, referrals to secondary or community care and performing minor surgery

Assistance with duty doctor rota

Assistance with audit and QOF work

Approx. 15,000 patients, CQC rated Good

Low demand for home visits

Session appointment mixture of F2F (15mins) and telephone (10mins).

Time set aside daily for clinical huddle/coffee

EMIS Web, Docman, AccuRx

Practice clinicians: 5 GP Partners, 7 Salaried GPs

5 Paramedic Practitioners, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 HCA, Pharmacy Team,

Active involvement in the PCN DES with a full complement of ARRS staff

PCN Additional Roles staff: Pharmacists, Pharmacy Tech, First Contact Physio, Social Prescribers, Paramedic.

Half day Duty Doctor sessions only, with support from experienced Paramedic Practitioner team

Full complement of supportive and committed admin staff

Experienced workflow team and pharmacy team who deal with clinical correspondence, reducing GP involvement

High standards and high achievement for QOF, enhanced services etc.

Training practice with opportunities to become involved in training (FY2, Registrars, Medical Students, Pharmacists, Paramedics)

Encouragement to develop individual interests and skills

Pleasant location, staff parking, excellent schools and transport links

Regular staff social events

  • A thorough understanding of the NHS Frameworks and clinical governance.
  • Satisfactory references and enhanced DBS check
