Job summary
Streets Corner Surgery are looking to recruit a Receptionist/Administrator to join our friendly team.
The post holder will be expected to provide an efficient reception service to our patients whilst also providing clerical duties at the request of clinical and managerial staff.
The post is for part time hours on Wednesday's and Fridays 1.30pm - 6.30pm and the successful applicant must be flexible and available to work more hours when required to cover sickness and annual leave.
Main duties of the job
The ability to multi-task is essential on any reception and the successful applicant will ideally have previous experience of working within General practice.
The successful applicant must also have excellent communication skills, including a good telephone manner. To deal with enquiries in a helpful and respectful manner and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Good level of I.T skills and knowledge (experience of Emis Web preferred but not mandatory).
Ability to work as both part of a team and independently.
Booking, cancelling and amending patient appointments and dealing with patients on the reception desk face to face.
Effectively signpost patients to services appropriate for their needs

To cover the front reception desk and deal with patients face to face
To maintain a good rapport / relationship between internal and external staff to the practice at all times.
To have an overview of the demands and workflow of the Practice during the working day.
Ensure the waiting area/reception desk is kept tidy and keep forms and patient information stocked up where possible.
Effectively signpost patients to services appropriate to their needs.
Liaise with Clinicians for patient queries
Work in a team of receptionists to cover any of the duties expected of the team.
Scanning, coding and filing post into clinical documentation system.
Flexibility to cover reception and administrative tasks.
