An exciting opportunity has
arisen for an experienced, Medical Secretary to join our GP practice in Deepdale,
Preston. Our surgery continually strives to improve work processes that deliver
health care with improved results for all our patients.
Please note the role will be 22 hours Medical Secretary and 8 hours Medicines Coordinator (full training will be provided for the Medicines Coordinator role)
Main duties of the job
- Raising e-referrals and bookings, routine, and urgent referrals
- Chasing referrals and answering patient queries via phone
- Dealing with incoming correspondence from the hospital
- Scanning/Read coding of hospital letters.
- Patient letter requests.
- Producing solicitors reports.
- Medicines Coordinator 8 hours (training to be provided)

involving word processing and typing skills with general clerical work and
Practice referrals. Job Responsibilities: To provide an efficient and
professional typing and word processing service for GPs and Health
Professionals as required. This includes the typing of letters, reports,
patient referrals, accurately To assist the Practice Manager / Managers with
clerical and administrative duties. To make appointments, bookings and
admissions as required, using the appropriate software. Monitoring of the
patient referrals and taking any appropriate action as and when required.
Responsible for the daily and timely completion of the workflow tasks. To
receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls in order to facilitate
timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing
with appropriate queries. To maintain the computer clinical system in an
accurate and secure manner and report any issues to IT as required.
