We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic GP to
work 4-8 sessions per week in our friendly town-based surgery in Horsham, West
Sussex.
Whether you are newly qualified or an experienced GP we

Main duties of the job
Our patient demographic is mixed but weighted to working age
patients leading to an interesting chronic disease workload and screening
activity. We have a highly organised and skilled administration team who
effectively signpost patients to other services and have an embedded workflow
management system to reduce the administrative burden on GPs.

Job responsibilities
Sessions will include patient contact appointments, share of
visits (where the Paramedic is unable to attend), administration (referrals,
letters, blood results enquiries and any other documentation as required by and
expected of a General Practitioner.
- The session duration will average 4 hours 10 minutes. Full
time is equivalent to 8 sessions.
- Morning clinics commence at 08:30 and conclude at 11:30.
- Afternoon clinics commence at 15:00 and conclude at 17:30.
- Morning and afternoon sessions are usually between 9 to 15
appointments each, plus home visits.
- Home visits are driven by demand and a fair share
distribution of up to 2 per day.
- Face to face appointments are 15 minutes in duration.
- Telephone appointments are 10 minutes in duration.
- You will be expected to do one Triage GP session per week.
- When Triage GP, afternoon clinics will conclude at 18:30.
- Extra Triage GP sessions may be requested to cover leave
requirements. We aim to give a minimum of two weeks notice where possible.
- You will have a named patient list.
- The list will be calculated on a pro rata basis relating to
the number of weekly sessions worked.
- You will be expected to attend clinical and organisational
meetings when required, plus attendance of in-house and external training
provided by the PCN and ICB.
