Parkside Medical Practice

Fixed Term Salaried GP

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

We are looking for a highly motivated newly qualified (within the past two years) General Practitioner to join our forward thinking and supportive team here at Parkside Medical Practice in Bulwell, Nottingham.

This post is being offered on a six month fixed term basis and is funded for two sessions per week from the local PCN ARRS budget and for a further four sessions by the practice to cover maternity leave. As such, the successful applicant will need to meet the ARRS funding recruitment criteria (qualified within the past two years and not held a substantive GP post previously).

We consider a session to be a maximum of 15 patient encounters / consultations plus any self generated administrative activity. Morning sessions also include the potential for a single home visit (which is triaged by the clinician themselves beforehand).

Main duties of the job

Our Salaried GPs are supported by a Partnership team of two GPs and an Advanced Nurse Practitioner / Managing Partner to

  • provide high-quality medical care to a diverse patient population, including previously unseen / undifferentiated presentations
  • work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to deliver holistic care across all stages of life
  • work with patients to develop and agreement clinical management plans, including prescribing in line with local formularies (when appropriate)
  • participate in continual education and peer support activities, including weekly patients of concern meetings, monthly in house education sessions and externally provided Protected Learning Time sessions
  • develop an area of personal interest for the benefit of the GP and our patient population

All of our clinicians are supported by a diverse wider practice team. As a result we strive to keep the administrative workload for clinicians within safe and manageable levels - the majority of incoming letters do not end up on a clinician's desk.

About us

Parkside Medical Practice is located in the purpose built Riverside Building near the centre of Bulwell, with easy access to on site parking, bus and tram stops and Bulwell railway station.

We consistently receive positive feedback from our patients. 91% of patients rated their experience of using our practice as good or very good in last months friends and family test and 93% felt that their needs had been met during their most recent consultation (which is 3% above the national average).
