New Street and Netherton Group Practice works across two sites serving patients living in both the Colne Valley and
the Holme Valley. Our location in Milnsbridge and Netherton allows for easy
access to the M62 and the Greater Manchester area.
We have an exciting opportunity offering 4 sessions per week
for an enthusiastic GP to deliver safe and effective care to our patients.
We anticipate that interviews will be held during w/c 29th
July 2024.

Main duties of the job

- To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the
provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an
excellent standard of clinical care.
- Manage pathology results for tests generated through patient
contacts in a shared capacity with all other doctors.
- Contribute to clinical admin including evaluating, actioning
and processing hospital correspondence and results. This includes ordering
appropriate tests and ensuring safety netting and follow up. You will contact
the patient to complete tasks where this is required.
- Supporting other members of the MDT including pharmacists,
nurses, healthcare assistant and administrators with clinical and process
questions as needed, particularly around planned care.
- Participating in and being visible as part of the practice
team, including attendance at clinical team meetings and whole team meetings
- QI and audit projects, depending on need.
- Pay attention to appropriate coding, note keeping and
flagging of any system issues as they arise.
- Raise safeguarding concerns with named leads where
appropriate.
About us
You will join a dedicated clinical team consisting of 2 GP
Partners, 3 salaried GPs, 1 Nurse Practitioner, 3 Practice Nurses and a
Healthcare Assistant supported by a caring and competent administrative team.
Our patients also have access to a broad range of
established allied healthcare professionals including a Pharmacy team, First
Contact Practitioners, Social Prescribers and Mental Health Social Prescribers as well as midwives, health visitors and community nurses.
We are currently working towards verification as a training
practice and hope to welcome our first GP Registrar in February 2025.
We are a SystmOne practice and can provide training and
support to GPs who are not familiar with this.
