Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic Lead Practice Nurse or a Practice Nurse looking to develop their skills to become a Lead Practice Nurse.

This is an exciting opportunity join our friendly, high achieving GP Practice in Kippax, Leeds.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who is keen to play an integral role in the development of the practice.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will be required to undertake all treatment room tasks in addition to chronic disease management. As Lead Practice Nurse you will have a number of additional responsibilities including:

  • Infection control
  • Staff mentoring, training, supervision and appraisals
  • Updating relevant policies and risk assessments
  • Undertaking audits

About us

We are a small and friendly practice located on the outskirts of Leeds.

Our team currently consists of 5 GP's, a nursing team of 5 made up of Practice Nurses and Healthcare Assistants, a reception team of 5 Care Coordinators and 5 Administrators. We also have a Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager.

  • Registered with the nursing and midwifery council
  • Qualified in cervical screening
  • Recognised qualification in at least one relevant long term condition eg diabetes, COPD or asthma

  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • Ability to provide quality care
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a GP practice
