Frithwood Surgery

Lead Receptionist

The closing date is 11 August 2025

Job summary

Frithwood Surgery is a semi-rural 7000 list size practice with its own Dispensary. We are currently looking for a motivated, highly organised, forward thinking Lead Receptionist to join our friendly, and hard-working team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent IT, administrative and communication skills. Some flexibility to work additional hours to cover holidays and sickness may be required.

This is a unique opportunity as our former Lead Receptionist will be available to support you as you learn the role and get to know the team.

This advert is initially open until the 11th August but may closer earlier if sufficient applications are received.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will:

  • Undertake a variety of reception and administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of the practice.
  • Be responsible for the direction of the reception team, ensuring all reception duties are performed effectively and to the required standard, meeting any objectives of the practice.
  • Compile staff working rotas and embed efficient reception processes and procedures to adhere to legislation.
  • Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way
  • Offer general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or on the telephone.
  • Support our Practice Administrator in running an effective appointment system, optimising appointments on an ongoing basis to ensure best delivery of appointments to our patients and ensuring phones are always answered in a timely manner.
