Job summary

Are you a newly qualified GP (within the last two years, without a substantive post) looking for an exciting and supportive role to launch your career in a dynamic and supportive environment?

Under the new ARRS scheme, we are looking to expand our team by seeking to employ an enthusiastic, forward thinking GP on a fixed-term salaried contract to start ASAP until 31st March 2025.

Main duties of the job

You will be required to work 2 sessions per week (Thursday) to support our patients through this period. Broken Cross is rated good with CQC and we are a highly supportive practice with a strong ethos towards Training & Development. We understand the importance of a good work/life balance with an open-door ethos.

About us

Broken Cross Surgery is part of the Macclesfield PCN based at Waters Green Medical Centre in Macclesfield.There are 6 GP Practices housed in the building covering approximately 66,000 patients.Broken Cross has a list size of 5800 patients.

Broken Cross Surgery is headed by our 4 GP Partners and Practice Manager, with a Nursing Team and Additional Roles including a Clinical Pharmacist, Pharmacy Technician, Physician Associate, MSK Practitioner and Social Prescribing Link Workers. The practice is supported by a strong team of administration staff.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of this role are outlined below:-

- To undertake duties governed by the GP Contract and Direct and Local Enhanced Services including

- Face to face and telephone consultations

- Patient home visits

- Checking and signing repeat prescriptions

- Administration - dealing with queries, patient test results, referral letters NHS/Private, tasks, emails and other paperwork and correspondence in a timely manner

- Cover all the clinical management of the patients in surgery as appropriate including initiating investigations, reviewing results, making referrals to secondary care or to other providers as appropriate

- Develop care and treatment plans in consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease management protocols as well as wider guidance such as that from National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE).

  • To meet the criteria for consideration, you must be a practising GP and hold the following:-
  • o GP - within 2 years of registration
  • o MRCGP
  • o Full GMC registration
  • o Performers List registration
  • o Clear Enhanced DBS check
  • o Less than 2 years from date of receiving certificate of completion
  • training (CCT)
  • o No previous substantive posts as a GP prior to here
  • o Registered with License to practise with General Medical Council

Desirable

  • o Experience of working with EMIS and Docman
  • o Knowledge of local patient demographics
