About Us

St Peter's Health Centre is a well-established practice with a strong commitment to serving the diverse needs of our community. Our medical team currently includes:

  • 4 Partners (3 GPs and 1 Managing Partner)
  • 9 Salaried GPs
  • 2 ANPs and a full nursing team
  • 2 Mental Health Practitioners
  • 2 Clinical Pharmacists
  • Alcohol Liaison Nurse
  • MSK Practitioners
  • 1 Senior Pharmacy Technician

All the above supported by a first class reception, administration and management team caring for our list size of 18,000 patients.

We are a training practice, hosting first year medical students, GPST and FY2 doctors.We are pleased to also have student nurses and pharmacists working at the practice from time to time.

Job description

Job responsibilities

  • To contribute to the leadership of the Practice and the provision of a full and comprehensive primary care service to the patients
  • To be part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver a full range of primary care services to the registered population and those wishing to access our services as temporary residents
  • To provide a high standard of clinical care and monitor outcomes taking into account up to date clinical guidelines
  • To follow procedural guidelines on data entry to enable the practice to record accurate data.
  • To work closely with the other members of the practice at all times
  • To attend all necessary meetings including Partnership, Practice and Educational meetings as required
  • To be able to work on any of our sites as requested
  • Responding to medical problems presented by patients, including history taking, examination, investigation, diagnosis, treatment and referral where appropriate.
  • Providing appropriate preventative health care and advice.
  • Adhering to the practice prescribing formulary.
  • Participating in clinical governance activity and contributing to the improvement in quality of health outcomes through the practices audit programme.
  • Clinically related administrative and non-clinical duties as necessary
  • Engaging in appropriate educational activity in order to maintain clinical competence and performance, including the completion of objectives agreed by yourself and the practice in an annual Personal Development Plan.
  • Participating in the training and development of nurses, medical students and GP registrars in the practice, when appropriate.
  • Supporting the practice staff and responding to requests for advice and assistance from the practice reception, secretarial and nursing staff.
