Prescription Clerk/NVQ Lever 2 Pharmacy Dispenser
We are looking for an experienced prescription clerk or a qualified NVQ level 2 Pharmacy Dispenser to join our friendly team at Ansdell Medical Centre. The role is for 35 hours per week.
Must have high quality of administration, have excellent IT skills, able to work in a fast-paced environment with the upkeep of organisation to ensure all tasks are being completed whilst adhering to practice protocols.
We would like our candidate to be friendly and a people's person. Be enthusiastic, self-motivating, able to work within the team and independently. Very important to have a positive can-do attitude.
We require our candidate to be adaptable, quick thinking and have attention to detail. The role demands accuracy and an understanding of Information Governance as you will be dealing with sensitive patient data.
Main duties of the job
Using the practices computer programs; EMIS Web and Docman to reconcile patients medications.
Answering and dealing with telephone medication/prescription enquiries
Liaise with other health care professionals who are part of the multidisciplinary team to solve prescription queries
Running and actioning searches based around medication safety and adherence, to book patients in for their appointments, such as annual blood tests for levothyroxine
Carry out work to identify patients suitable for medication changes in line with the medicines management work plan to support QoF, prescribing targets and ICB projects with the agreement of the GPs.
Provide specialist medicines advice and technical assistance to implement and maintain high-quality, cost-effective prescribing and reduce medicine related risk to patients.
Helping to Practice deliver agreed changes to meet prescribing targets set for the practice
Expedite urgent prescriptions to help ensure a safe and responsive service for our patients.
Liaising with local community pharmacies to address prescription related issues.
Helping the Clinical team with Audits, Medicines Optimisation, and ad-hoc health promotion
