Job summary

Posterngate Surgery is a large, innovative, high performing teaching practice. We use SystmOne and AccuRx. We would like to expand our GP team and are looking for a caring, motivated, passionate GP with excellent communication and clinical skills to join our stable team. We are a friendly practice with a fantastic clinical team and efficient management. We are a hardworking and supportive practice that aims to achieve the highest quality of care for our patients.

Main duties of the job

High performing PMS practice with over 18,000 patients. We are currently continuing to attract 250-300 new patients each year.

Large well maintained, modern building built in 1997 which has since been extended and adapted.

Selby is a semi-rural market town with easy access from York and Leeds.

We work collaboratively with Selby Primary care Network covering over 50,000 patients in our area.

Six Partners and seven experienced salaried GPs.

Highly organised and efficient management team.

Large nursing team with excellent range of clinical skills supported by health care assistants.

We are fortunate to have developed a large dynamic and diverse multidisciplinary team within the practice to support the care of our patients and ease the workload burden on our GPs and nursing teams. This now includes: Advanced nurse practitioner, urgent care practitioner, pharmacist & pharmacy technician, first contact physiotherapists, first contact mental health practitioners, psychological wellbeing practitioners, social prescribers and support from nutrition nurse, frailty, dementia and learning disability care coordinators.

We are a long established training practice currently training up to 4 registrars on rotation and participate in undergraduate teaching of fourth year medical students from Hull York Medical School.
