Job summary

We are seeking a reliable and organised Administrator to join our busy GP practice team on a fixed-term basis (6 months, 18 hours per week). In this key role, you will provide essential administrative support by managing referrals, monitoring emails, handling telephone enquiries, and assisting clinical and administrative staff to ensure efficient daily operations.

You will be a vital point of contact for patients and colleagues alike, contributing to the smooth running of the practice and supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main duties of the job

Manage and send patient referrals accurately and promptly

Monitor and respond to incoming emails

Answer and direct telephone enquiries professionally

Provide general administrative support to clinical and non-clinical staff

Maintain accurate patient and practice records

Support the smooth running of daily operations within the practice

The Market Cross Surgery is a friendly and well-established GP practice at the heart of the market town of Mildenhall, providing care to the local community and surrounding villages. We look after a patient population of around 12,000 and are proud to offer accessible, high-quality healthcare in a welcoming setting.

Our team is made up of Partners, GPs, Nurses, Administrators, Receptionists, Dispensers and healthcare professionals from Forest Heath Primary Care Network (PCN).
